5th and 6th Class tour To Tayto Park 2016

We had an amazing school tour to Tayto Park on the 22-6-2016. We were at the school at 8am for roll call. We headed off bright and early and we were all excited. We stopped in Apple Green on the way up for a picnic. We arrived in Tayto Park and were greeted by Simon who could not have been any more helpful and welcoming. We did a tour of the zoo first and our guide Hugh was fantastic. He even let us pet a real chicken. We were amazed to see racoons, skunks, alpacas, bison, deer, monkeys, leopards, tigers and meekcats to name but a few. We were not very fond of the Boa Constrictor snake! Hugh brought us across the road to the Tayto factory and it was wonderful to see how a factory operates. The factory can produce up to two million packs of Tayto a day! We had some laugh in the Vortex tunnel on the way out!The 4 leaders were heard screaming on the International Space Station!!! We had a delicious lunch and drink in the restaurant,
We went to the adventure zone and we got the adrenaline pumping on the Cú Chulainn roller coaster, which is the largest roller coaster in Europe! We went on the Rotator, which is not for the faint hearted! We were turned upside down on the Air Race and Endeavor. Some of us whizzed our way down the zip lines and the Tayto Twister! We climbed walls and did the Sky Walk. Some of us even went to the 5D cinema! We went ot the shop and bought some presents and souvenirs of our wonderful day out in Tayto Park. We would highly recommend it to any family as it is a great day out.
A sincere thank you to Teresa Hann, Annemarie Collins and Fergus Donaghue who helped Ms Treacy out on the day. We really appreciate you giving up your time to come with us and for being brilliant leaders in your group. A great day was had by all.
