The Smoking Bottle Experiment (20-05-2016)
In S.P.H.E we have been learning about drugs and the harm they can cause to us. To demonstrate the harm cigarettes can do to our lungs, we did the smoking bottle experiment in Science on Friday. We used a bottle, a straw, cotton wool, a cigarette and matches. We worked as a team to carry out our experiment. we went outside to do the experiment as we did not want the smell of cigarette smoke in our classroom! We took turns to squeeze the bottle and the bottle smoked the cigarette. We hated the smell of it!
The snow white cotton wool represented our healthy lungs.
5th class work well together.
Team work from 6th class.
This is the first and last cigarette I will ever light!
The cigarette is lit!
I really do not like the smell!
It smells yuck!
This is the result!
We are stunned at how much damage one cigarette did to the cotton wool.
We are never going to smoke - EVER!
The cigarette smoke went right through the cotton wool, Imagier the damage that a smoker does to their lungs every day!
