Asia Day 2016

We had an amazing day today in school. We have been preparing for Asia Day for a long time. In Geography, we drew the physical and political maps of Asia and we learned the position of the countries, rivers, mountains and seas. We did brilliant in our test on Asia before Easter. Ilike2learn.com really helped us to do well in our tests. In Art class, we decorated our classroom and turned it into an Asian restaurant for the day. In Music class, we listened to Asian music.
We were busy as beavers all day cooking rice, noodles, spring rolls, curries, Kormas, samosas etc. We had our food first and then we invited 2nd, 3rd and 4th class to our Asian restaurant! We served Asian snacks to 1st class in their classroom and we gave mini buns to Junior and senior Infants.
Asia Day 2016 was a huge success thanks to the generosity of the wonderful parents of Newcastle. Thank you very much for all the food you sent in today.
Thanks to Mrs Magnier who was busy in the kitchen all day cooking rice, noodles, spring rolls etc. Asia Day would not have been possible without her so a sincere thank you Mrs Magnier. As Thomas would say "Three cheers for Mrs Magnier!" Thank you to Teresa Hann who worked like a trooper all day to help us enjoy Asia day. Thank you to Ms Giblin who gave us a talk about her Asian items that she brought in to decorate our classroom. Thanks to Annemarie Murphy, Ebe Pate and Maria and John Langan who sent in fantastic Asian objects to help us learn more about Asia.
